The under the mattress Sensor Pad detects your baby's slightest movements. If your baby becomes completely still for 20 seconds, the Sensor Pad sends a signal to the Nursery Unit which then sounds an alarm telling you to check on your baby. The two portable Parents' Units (Sound Monitor) will pick up the alarm and all other nursery sounds, if you are out of the baby's room. The Nursery Unit also has an optional "tic" feature. If the Sensor Pad senses movement, the Nursery Unit will continuously tick. If all movement stops, the ticking will stop. The two Parents’ Units give you the flexibility of always leaving one in your bedroom while taking the second unit to the area you are in, all while your baby is sleeping in her crib.
Your crib must have a hard flat surface for the Sensor Pad to work. If it does not, place a piece of masonite or a board under the mattress and place the Sensor Pad on top of the masonite and under the mattress. The correct side of the Sensor Pad must be facing up.

The Angelcare Movement Sensor with Sound Monitor can only be used to monitor one baby at a time. If you have twins, two separate units will need to be purchased. In order for these monitors to work properly the babies will have to sleep in separate cribs. You will not be able to use Angelcare for more than 2 babies at any given time because the monitor only has 2 channels.
The Movement Sensor with Sound Monitor includes an under-the-mattress Sensor Pad, a Nursery Unit, two Parents' Units (sound monitor), and three AC adapters. It can also operate with 12 AAA batteries (not included).
