With the Bebe Sounds Portable Video and Sound Monitor you have multiple options because both the camera and receiver can be operated on either AC power or with batteries. For instance, when your baby is sleeping in the nursery, you can use the AC adapter for the camera, saving the battery power. If you are going to be working in only one room when the baby is sleeping, you can also use the AC adapter to power the receiver. The receiver takes 5 AA rechargeable batteries (included) and the camera takes 6 AA alkaline or rechargeable batteries (not included).
